And Then Some...

One small action step I take is making sure I use all of a product before throwing away or recycling the container. I squeezed the above toothpaste until I could squeeze no more. Sure enough, it's like magic when you cut it open... there's more!

I was able to use this toothpaste ten more times after cutting it open. What I love most is that when you put the top on the bottom it makes a cute little tube for continued storage.

While I've made one step as a conscious consumer, these pictures show that I most certainly have room to grow. I hear the professional earth advocates are making their own toothpaste or using toothpaste tablets instead or tubes to cut down on their plastic consumption. I tried making my own toothpaste once, but it didn't taste so good. I'll have to give it another go. And yes, that's a plastic toothbrush I'm holding. The dentist gave it to me for free. I know I should be buying bamboo toothbrushes. That will be my next small step.

In the meantime, I am going to celebrate the small steps I am taking. What are the small steps you are taking? I would love to learn from you and celebrate you.
